KEY RESULTS:

  • The addition of Agri-Gro resulted in 68 more pounds of cotton
  • Effect of Agri-Gro on net profit/acre at various cotton prices:
Price/ lb. .30 .55 .60 .65 .70
Profit/acre .42 17.42 20.82 24.22 27.62

Even at 30-cent cotton prices,
Agri-Gro more than pays for itself.

Treatments/Applications: Three applications of Agri-Gro were applied as follows: 16 oz. Applied at planting, 32 oz. Applied at first pinhead square, 16 oz. Applied at pre-bloom; Total cost for all treatments…$19.98/acre.

Conclusions: This research was conducted on 26 acres, consisting of six-replicated test plots. Each plot contained 36 rows with every other two rows being treated with Agri-Gro, Telone, or left as a check with no treatments. This gave a total of 12 rows for each material tested per plot, including the check for a total of 324 rows covering all test plots. Telone had increased yields of 118 pounds per acre, however, it would have taken an increase of 125lbs/acre of 60-cent cotton to have paid for the cost of the Telone (5.5 gallon@11.45/gallon + application $12/acre). The bottom line: Agri-Gro returned $2.00 for every dollar spent, while Telone cost money.
